Just wanted to put a quick recommendation out there for anyone heading to Melbourne who wants to stay somewhere vibrant without ending up in a loud, chaotic party barn.
I recently came across Bayside House, a boutique Hostel in Melbourne right in the heart of St Kilda. If you’re looking for a spot that's close to the action but still actually clean and comfortable, it's worth checking out.
Here are a few things that stood out:
Location: About 1.5 km from the beach, and right next to St Kilda's best cafes, bars, and restaurants. Super easy to get into the CBD via tram as well.
Refurbished setup: They've recently gone through a refresh with new bedding, premium pods, and modern furniture, so it doesn't feel worn down like some legacy backpacker spots.
Vibe: Strikes a really nice balance—social enough to meet people through their local event partnerships, but quiet enough to actually get a good night's sleep.
If you're planning a trip down to Melbourne soon and want a solid base in St Kilda, definitely take a look at their site.
Has anyone else stayed here recently? Would love to hear your experience or if you have any other hidden gem recommendations around Melbourne!
